A FUN SELF-ESTEEM BUILDING CRAFT FOR KIDS & TEENS

You and your students will love our free positive affirmation activity!  Our Strength Stones kit is a fun and empowering gift to share with kids and teens.  You can make these encouraging stones in advance and hand out to students.  Or better yet, use this as a fun individual, lunch bunch or small group activity.  Works great for sessions focused on self-esteem, positive self-talk, and friendship.

WAYS TO USE THIS FREE POSITIVE AFFIRMATION ACTIVITY:

  • Place in basket and invite students/clients to pick out a stone which either reflects one of their strengths, or is a reminder of their goal, want, or need.
  • Invite students/clients to randomly pick one out, and ask them to share about a time in their life when they displayed that strength.
  • Use as a worry stone/fidget.
  • Pass out as supportive gifts to cheer your students on.
  • Craft activity during small group or individual counseling.

Please note: This is a craft activity and some assembly is required. Additional materials are also needed, including 1 inch or so clear glass stones and clear drying adhesive.

You may also enjoy other self-esteem and friendship based social emotional activities.  Including our positive affirmation fortune tellers and friendship & self-esteem cuffs!  We also offer a free Feeling and Story Stone kit, as well!

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

I love this and you will too. I teach special ed & we do a daily social skills group. I bought a 1 inch hole punch from Michaels, which made cutting these out a breeze. I glued them using modge podge onto clear stones. The students love them. Each day we pick a trait and discuss it. It makes a great conversation starter. The kids liked them so much we are having them pick a few traits they need more “strength” to achieve, and they made stones of their own to keep in their desk, pocket or bookbag to give them the strength they need. What a wonderful resource! I love it!

I used this with a small group. 3 students. Each picked out a stone and used it as a sentence starter for the next person to finish the story. We went around till we all agreed the story was done.

Thank you! This became the springboard of inspiration for how I leave “love notes, strength notes” to him in his lunchbox! I use one stone a day!
